All About Keyword Research
Okay so far we have, made a list of niche topics, narrowed our niche down to one that will probably be profitable (If there are products selling in the niche most of the time you are headed in the right direction.), and found an affiliate product to promote within our niche.
Now to promote this product we are going to have to do some keyword research. Any time you go to do any type of affiliate marketing or are looking to create a product for a niche, you will always have to do some keyword research.
My keyword research tool of choice is Micro Niche Finder at TheNicheDecoder.com/NicheFinder
So for my example niche of "lowering cholesterol". I'm going to open up Micro Niche Finder, and put in the term "lowering cholesterol"
This search returns 200 results as seen below. Notice it shows how many searches per month, exact phrase count (how many websites there are with that exact keyword phrase in it), ad cost, and the coolest function which is the SOC. This is basically how easy it will be to rank in the search engines for each term. A red dot means too competitive, a yellow dot means pretty competitive, and a green one means there isn't a lot of competition.

I'm now going to go through and get rid of all keyword phrases that have less than 100 searches a month. These simply are not worth my time.
The keywords that are left, I will check them all and get their SOC. Here are the results....

I only want to keep the keywords with a green dot next to them..
Note: If you can't find very many keywords with the green dot next to them, go for the yellow dots on words that have less than 100,000 for their exact phrase count.
You should find at least 30-50 keywords here.
These keywords will be the start of every affiliate marketing campaign you use. Be it article marketing, web 2.0 marketing, blogging, or PPC, you will always use your keywords.
